We ask all of our families to contribute 30 hours of service each year, both because it helps us to strengthen our sense of community and involvement, and because that service helps to defray some of our costs or to raise funds. That translates to enabling us to keep tuition as low as we possibly can.
We are also delighted to have volunteer help from others outside the current school community – alumni families, friends, and soon-to-be friends who believe in what we deliver and want to help make a difference.
Here are some of the ways we currently use parents’ volunteer assistance:
Planning and presenting an in‐class project, particularly in areas of special expertise
Planning a field trip or special outing
Driving and chaperoning field trips
If no opening is available, the student is placed on our waitlist.
Presenting a lesson in a particular skill, profession or expertise
Substituting in the classroom when a teacher or assistant is absent
Driving in the Parent Teacher Organization as an officer, on a PTO committee, or as Class Parent
Serving in the Parent Teacher Organization as an officer, on a PTO committee, or as Class Parent
Serving on the Board of Trustees or a board committee, including fund-raising committees
Other contributions or activities as approved by school faculty and staff
We are grateful for other volunteers who help us by:
Serving on our Board of Trustees and committees
Helping to raise funds through our Annual Fund, grant proposal writing, and other efforts
Providing special expertise for our classes, board, or staff
Helping with Sequinalia, Super Sports Saturday, and other special events
Lending expertise and help with landscaping, grounds keeping, and building maintenance
